Overview

CHINI Gallery collaborates with Silks Place Tainan in Art Tainan 2025 to present a special exhibition, bringing art into the hotel space and creating an in-depth dialogue with contemporary art. This exhibition features LEE Kuang-Yu’s monumental bronze sculpture The Four Seasons, which transforms the form of a traditional calligraphy scroll into a three-dimensional sculpture, merging landscape imagery within it. Visitors can experience the interplay of sculpture and environment through shifting natural light, sensing both rhythm and tranquility. Also on view are CHEN Cheng-Wei’s Flower of Life and Tree of Life series, where vibrant, flourishing blossoms symbolize vitality, shaping a warm atmosphere imbued with spiritual resonance.

Artist

李光裕 (1954-)

LEE Kuang-Yu

Lee employs signature techniques such as “piercing” to break open the closed structure of traditional sculpture, creating a distinctive formal and conceptual language of emptiness. His works embody an “Eastern void” where self and object dissolve, offering not only profound aesthetic value but also a contemplative reflection on the human condition, imbued with contemporary social relevance.

陳承衛 (1984-)

CHEN Cheng-Wei

Chen is one of the leading contemporary figurative realist artists in China. In recent years, his Blossoms of Life series marks a shift from classical realism to a more symbolic and spiritual language, blending Eastern mural and Thangka traditions with Western Impressionist sensibilities in color and line to evoke themes of life energy and maternal love.
