If we can understand that the growth of trees, the layering of rocks and soil, and rivers flowing into the sea are natural laws that require no interpretation, then when these laws evoke empathy in human perception, they acquire cultural significance. In our experience of comprehending the world, nature exists not only as an objective reality but also as a “second nature” reconstructed through the human perspective.
In the contemporary context, art’s role of questioning and critique prompts a reassessment of the legitimacy of human intervention in nature. Artists reconsider the relationship between humanity and nature, reconstructing it from a personal viewpoint. These perspectives are not confined to the realm of environmental ecology but extend more broadly into cultural, social, and aesthetic domains, illustrating the multiplicity of meanings that nature embodies once endowed with a body through art.
