CHINI Gallery is proud to present "Flowing Rhythm: A Dreamscape," an exhibition that invites audiences into the distinctive worlds of three outstanding Taiwanese artists - TENG Pu-Chun, Suling WANG, and CHOU Ching-Hui. Through their deeply reflective and nuanced interpretations of nature, humanity, and culture, the exhibition offers an immersive journey into artistic realms where diverse perspectives converge in subtle yet harmonious resonance. Each artist brings a unique voice and vision, yet together they compose a profound dialogue that transcends time and space - inviting contemplation, empathy, and wonder.
TENG Pu-Chun is renowned for his self-developed technique known as "rolled wrinkle strokes," which redefines the traditional boundaries of ink painting. His works navigate a poetic terrain between the real and the surreal, where mountains, rivers, and trees form ethereal landscapes - delicate yet majestic. Teng's paintings merge the solidity of stone with the fluidity of ink, conjuring dreamscapes that pulse with the spirit of nature and the quiet force of life itself. His art invites viewers to step into a space where the seen and the unseen coexist in dynamic balance.
Suling WANG, in her large-scale abstract compositions, explores the themes of origin, identity, and movement. With flowing brushwork and richly layered color, she navigates the complex interweaving of Eastern cultural heritage and personal memory. Her acclaimed "Mountain Language" series reflects a deep affection for her homeland, coupled with a contemplative response to her diasporic experience. More than just visual impressions, these paintings resonate as emotional topographies - landscapes of belonging, transformation, and rediscovery. Wang's practice is a journey of self-inquiry, in which color and form become vessels for revisiting the idea of "home."
CHOU Ching-Hui brings photography to new narrative and conceptual heights through his meticulously directed, cinematic imagery. His works capture emotionally charged moments with dramatic tension, revealing both the fragility and resilience of the human spirit. In his latest series, Chou turns his lens toward the lives of children with intellectual disabilities, rendering their world with dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. Each photograph becomes a portal to a deeper story, encouraging viewers to see with empathy and reflect on the unseen lives that surround us.
"Flowing Rhythm: A Dreamscape" is more than a presentation of three distinct artistic voices - it is a contemplative exploration of contemporary art as a vessel for introspection, connection, and renewal. The exhibition invites viewers to discover resonance within the works, and to reflect on the intricate relationships between self and environment, culture and emotion. Every piece is a journey, offering passage into a world where dream and reality flow seamlessly together.
