Make A Wish – Art Unbound
07 Sep 2014-25 Sep 2014
Overview

The Make A Wish – Art Unbound Charity Preview is a charitable venture jointly organized by the Chini Gallery, the Republic of China Make-A-Wish Foundation and the WE:PEOPLE magazine, whilst Lee Yu-ling, Art Director of the Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture was invited to act as strategic consultant to the project. Altogether, 21 works will be on display from the 7th September till the 25th September. The works will also be part of the charity auction evening held by Humble House Taipei on the 26th of September. We hope that through the charity auction, more like-minded art lovers and collectors will be called to participate in this occasion, and with our powers united, together we can raise the money necessary for children suffering from grave illnesses to realize their dreams.

In this exhibition, we are glad to draw on the power of art. 5 of Taiwan’s most senior contemporary artists, namely Jiang Xian-er, LEE Kuang-Yu, Yang Bo-lin, Shi Jin-hua and Ji Jia-hua were invited to participate, and 15 of Taiwan’s new generation of artists were called on to donate their work and take part in the project. In addition, the leader of the Legend Lin Dance Theater Troupe, Chen Nian-zhou, also donated a silver teapot of his own creation, “Rongxu”. As an art exhibition, Make A Wish – Art Unbound displays the variety of creative vision now present in Taiwanese contemporary art, and provides a platform for the unique styles of a cross-section of Taiwanese artists of all ages. Moreover, through their collective good deeds, the artists in this exhibition have brought forth the essence of art – the universal values of truth, benevolence and beauty. Through their brilliant and varied poetic meanings, they display the unbounded potential of art and give this exhibition a unique style and symbolic value.
