讓我成為宇宙的塵埃;

讓我成為天堂的色彩;

In Search of Arcadia through My Palette

Introduction by Ted Ho (Nerds, Philharmonic, poet, Collector)

The step of spring is near!

Let’s go and enjoy the painting of Jessica – in the garden of Arcadia.

The Scripture says – reality is not what you see with your own eyes; everything has its own true characteristics but in disguise. Just like our observation – things are different and changeable in this world through angle, subtlety, background, and the light at time of day; or, even the mood of individual observer. The beauty of painting hides in the reality of form and formless with depth of timeline, which opens up the spiritual window in between the viewer and the artist.

Therefore, the painting may not represent in its realistic appearance, but emerges realism through colors, lines, light and shadow with prospective, skills and composition. It may be distorted but it has vibration beyond the appearance of spiritual light spectrum. Through this spiritual window, the viewer is able to experience the beauty of painting subjectively, initiatively, or objectively. In simplicity, such interaction of spirits will stride over and bridging the timeline of artist and viewer mysteriously.

However, an accomplished fine art must content energy beyond timeline. The beauty and the thoughts produced through spiritual spectrum in each individual viewer should go beyond the conception of colors and sketches. The attraction and value of a painting is the connection must build with each collector, or connoisseur; such emotional connection often surpasses the original emotion feeling of painter’s own work.

To enjoy Jessica’s art work, we rely not only the visual art appreciation knowledge, but also with the above mention “experiencing through subjective aesthetics” to immerse in the joy, which may even motivate you in making decision of possessing as personal collection. The solo exhibition of Jessica’s “In Search of My Arcadia” at Hwang Gallery in Queens is not just a visual feast for LOHAS artist Jessica, but to inspire every art connoisseur, or even just a passer-by, to open one’s own spiritual window in exploring and experiencing at the scenario in Arcadia garden.

The living experience and spiritual realization of Arcadia garden has long been existed in human history. The art work created by artist may not come with great energy of itself to inspire the viewer; instead, it is like a key of “spiritual window” which serves to open and connect in between the creator and the connoisseur. The experimental feeling is an interaction of time and space. That is what you may expect in coming to Jessica’s solo exhibition today.

Following is a poem corresponding to Jessica’s solo exhibition in Queens, New York:

Says dancing butterfly,

Let me be the beauty of forest,

For her, let me fly

For I belong to her.

Says night cicada,

Let me be the favor of starlight,

For her, let me sing,

For I belong to her.

Says earth,

Let me be the dust of universe;

Let me spin, as free as I want,

It is for her, and belongs to her.

Says ocean,

Let me be the color of heaven;

Lifting wind and waves, I exist,

It is for her, and belongs to her.
